French Velours

French Velours is a luxury penthouse in Griffintown, Montreal, conceived as a refined urban residence overlooking the Lachine Canal. The interior combines sculptural architecture, custom millwork and a restrained palette with subtle Parisian influences rather than a literal stylistic reference. Expansive living spaces are organized around a dramatic spiral staircase, while warm woods, deep blue tones and carefully selected stone introduce contrast and depth. The custom kitchen is treated as an architectural element, integrating generous proportions with tailored detailing and a strong visual connection to the surrounding spaces. Throughout the penthouse, material transitions, furniture and lighting are composed to create a sophisticated yet comfortable environment that balances urban character, softness and architectural precision.
